Unity Quilts

Quilts have a unique significance in the mental and physical realm. While sharing the prominent and functional aspect of warmth and comfort, memories weave and intertwine during its making and use. It connects the creators and the experiencer. I invite all artists/makers, my friends, and friend groups to create artwork. It could be painting, drawing, or writing thoughts or a poem about their own story, thoughts about oneness, unity, fear of strangers, or just being themselves, about their beliefs, a reflection of the same finding a visual translation. My collaborator artist friend Akiko Suzuki would help me sew some works on burlap with machine embroidery and others I will sew with hand, and we will hang them as tapestries. Hence moving from the individual space to a larger united one. These works you may create at your home or studio (any good paper -size 10”/10”) and send them to me before the end of December 2023. Since this is in continuation with my previously collaboratively created Unity Mandalas, I plan to exhibit these works along with Unity Mandalas.
